Recruiters do not want to see everything you have done in your life!

Speaking to 100s of job seekers over the last few months, a common trait is wanting to display their entire life on a resume.

When you are seeing yourself do that, put yourself in the recruiters shoes.

With 30 seconds to go through a resume, would you want to go through a life story or focussed points on how the candidate will help the company.

It is that simple.

For every job you apply, ensure your resume speaks specifically about how your experience is the right fit to execute the role they are looking for.

If you do not have direct experience in the industry, focus on transferable skills.

If you have experience in a related industry, highlight that.

Spoon feed the recruiter what they are looking for.

Do not let them pick and choose the experience that is relevant.
